With its earlier offer coming to an end, Jio recently announced new tariff plans. Last month, Mukesh Ambani led Jio extended its Dhan Dhana Dhan offers with two new data plans costing Rs. 349 & Rs. 399. Jio Prime members get 20GB unlimited data for 56 days on recharge of Rs. 349 Plan. While the Rs. 399 plan gives 84 GB data for 84 days. Both plans come with unlimited calling and many other added benefits.

Meanwhile the only difference is Rs. 349 data plan has no cap on daily data consumption whereas Rs. 399 plan comes with 1Gb/day 4G data limit. However, after consumption of daily limit of 1GB, you can continue using data at a lower speed.

New Mobile Data Plans For All Operators

Jio’s low cost tariff plans have forced rival telecom operators to join the bandwagon. Now, other companies like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, and RCOM are coming with their recharge packs. All of a sudden customers have got a plans to choose from offering 4G data and unlimited calling.

Airtel Rs. 399 Plan

Airtel has come up with Rs. 399 plan for prepaid user. Under this plan Airtel is offering 1GB data per day for 84 days. Subscribers also get unlimited local and STD calls under company’s new plan. The unlimited calling is restricted to 1,000 minutes per week. This limit is applicable for both local and STDs calls on any network. After consuming 1,000 minutes, customers will pay 10 paisa per minute on net calls. However, cost per minute goes to 30 paise per minute on other networks. Airtel’s 399 plan is only available for prepaid subscribers using 4G sim cards.

Vodafone Rs. 349 Plan

Recently, Vodafone India has updated a new unlimited calling & Data plan on its website for prepaid subscribers. Vodafone Rs. 349 data plan offers 1GB/Day 4G/3G Data and Unlimited* ALL Mobile & Landline Calls. However, this plan comes with a validity of 28 days for the subscribers. Unlike Jio & Airtel plans that work on 4G handsets, Vodafone offer is applicable for all handsets.

Vodafone also has a Rs. 445 plan called campus survival kit. This plan is targeted at students offering 1GB 4G data per day for 84 days. The monthly recharge for this new offer is Rs. 352. Currently, vodafone offer is valid for new connections in Delhi NCR. Soon the company may extend it to other cities as well.

Idea Rs. 453 Plan

With launch of new Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, Idea subscribers have something to cherish as well. Idea has 84-day validity packs for time recharge users at Rs. 453. The plan comes with local and STD calls and 1GB 3G data limit per day. Idea cellular also has Rs. 297 plan, this time with unlimited Idea to Idea calling, along with 1GB daily data limit for 70 days.

BSNL Rs. 444 Plan

State Owned telco BSNL has also launched many plans for data consumers. However, the telco is yet to launch 4G services, therefore consumers get 3G & 2G data. In March, the company launched Rs. 339 plan with validity of 90 days. Recently, the company launched Rs. 444 plan offering 4GB data per day for 90 days.

To conclude, one major difference between Jio and its competitors like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea & BSNL is the simpler Tariff plans. Other operators may be offering the same benefits but with certain terms and conditions attached. Moreover, there are changes in recharge data plans for different circles. Whereas Jio plans are valid throughout India and thus easier to understand for subscribers.
